First of all I would like to welcome you all to the new and improved TRP web site. I hope that this section of the site will bring you the fans a little closer to the Stars’ of Top Rope Promotions and to get to know a little more about them.

I would like to welcome my first guest at this time and why not start at the top. He is the current Top Rope Promotions Heavyweight Champion, “Heavenly” Johnny Angel. Johnny, it’s great to have this opportunity to chat with you.

Johnny: Thank you for having me.

Johnny what made you get into professional wrestling?

Johnny: I grew up idolizing wrestling. My Grandparents took me to Jack Witschis every Friday to see the then WWWF. I was amazed and awed by the wrestlers. I always told my Grandfather that I was going to be a wrestler someday.

When did you begin and where did you begin your wrestling career and who was your first match with?

Johnny: My start began in 1994 for NEWF. My first match was a tag against The Maniac Cops at the Palladium in Warwick, Rhode Island.

Who would you say were your favorite wrestlers before you started wrestling and is there anyone you admire even more now that you are in this business?

Johnny: Growing up as a young angel it had to be Chief Jay Strongbow. I loved the way he could get the crowd behind him. As I got older Eddie Gilbert, The Road Warriors, Sting, Michael Hayes, Kerry Von Erich, Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart.

Who would you say was your toughest opponent so far?

Johnny: I’ve had a few. It’s hard to limit it too just one so I’ll have too say Jay Jaillet, Brickhouse Baker and Alex Payne.

If there was one wrestler that you would love to work with either from WWE, TNA or the Indies but haven't as of yet, who would that be?

Johnny: WWE, Shawn Michaels. Indies, I’m going to be honest, it’s got to be my next Title defense against Eddie Edwards. I love his work and can’t wait to get in the ring with him, I got my work cut out for me.

I know recently after a match your son came into the ring and handed you your championship belt. How did that make you feel?

Johnny: You want too talk about emotion, the adrenaline was flowing. Trey’s been my inspiration over the last few years no matter if I win or lose he’s still there for me.

Looking back throughout your career, do you have any regrets and if you could change anything what would that be?

Johnny: I can’t say that I have any regrets.

Besides winning the TRP Heavyweight Championship what have been some of your other major accomplishments?

Johnny: I’ve been SCCW Heavyweight Champion and one half of The Tag Team Champions. The PLW Heavyweight Champion. The Mayhem Heavyweight Champion, Lightweight Champion and one half of The Tag Team Champions.

Johnny, what would you say to anyone out there who wants to be a pro wrestler?

Johnny: This is no joke this business starts in your heart and draws energy from your blood. Keep a clear mind and don’t get discouraged. Train hard and listen to the veterans and learn to take advice

Johnny it has been a pleasure and I’m sure your fans will appreciate this little chat also. In closing what would you like to say to those fans out there? I know they are there for you at every show.

Johnny: Thanks for all the years of loyal support to all of you as you are my true angels. So sit back, crack a glow stick, raise your wings and let me entertain you.
